In the Stars Without Number Universe, there is no interstellar internet, instead there is the Space Net. Since there is a limit to FTL speed, it is not a network of all Sector Asgard Sigma, instead it connects everyone in a single solar system. Travelers are then contracted to carry data between systems.
It allows access to things such as Spacebook, the Traveller Society Message Boards and other useful and/or interesting content. As of this moment in time, it is not possible for there to be real time interactions between systems, due to the lack of current knowledge in the technology of passing signals through subspace. As such, each system has an independent network that is updated with relevant news by passing mail ships.
